#19: Vanity (January 4, 1959 – February 15, 2016)
Denise Matthews started in Canadian beauty pageants and modeling before moving to the U.S. to pursue acting. Her big break came in 1980 when she met Prince, who gave her the name Vanity and made her the lead of Vanity 6. After their hit “Nasty Girl” in 1982, she went solo on Motown, released two R&B albums, and starred in films such as the 1985 cult classic The Last Dragon.
