Christmas movies have generated a special genre of their own. While some of us indulge our wintry cravings year-round, like celebrating Christmas in July with never-ending movie marathons about Christmas, we’ve finally begun the much-anticipated transition to the Season of Cheer! And though there are those Christmas classics that have withstood the test of time, there is another special bunch of flicks that aren’t quite as revered as all that. Some movies we just love to hate, whether it’s for their corniness, their outlandish scripts, or their sheer bizarre use of the Christmas theme. We’ve compiled twenty such films here for your consideration. Which movies did we forget? Let us know in the comments!
#1: Jingle All the Way (1996)
We wholeheartedly agree that Jingle All the Way deserves its cult classic status. Arnold-style combat moves in the pursuit of an action figure toy? His over-the-top acting style? Or how about when Arnold actually becomes the action figure he so sought to purchase at the movie’s tearful ending? All of these elements make it a slightly cringey but totally loveable Christmas film.
