Decades After His Father Disappeared, A Man Made a Terrifying Discovery in His Basement

August 14, 2020 by Elizabeth Grillo

Michael Carroll made a spooky find on the evening of October 30th, 2018, just in time for Halloween when he came upon a skeleton. The skeleton was buried eight feet below the ground in the basement of his Long Island home. He felt a sense of relief. The quest for his father, George, had lasted for years, but it had finally paid off. According to the police, the skeleton remains of a man who had been reported missing in 1961 were discovered in the home on Long Island where his family lived, which prompted a homicide inquiry on the part of the authorities. According to the Suffolk County Police Department, George Carroll’s son Michael and two of his grandkids found his skeletal remains on Halloween. Michael was accompanied by the grandsons. The discovery was made by them while they were doing some digging in the basement of their house in Lake Grove. It was sent to the office of the medical examiner in Suffolk County, New York, so that an anthropologist might conduct research on it. The identification of George Carroll’s remains as the owner of the bones discovered in the woods was made public by the police on Wednesday during a news conference.

Left The House, And No One Ever Saw Him Again

An unsolved mystery that has plagued the Carroll family for more than six decades and has followed them virtually every day of their life has become more difficult for them to bear. They have been plagued by this unsolved enigma for more than sixty years at this point. This unresolved enigma has been accompanying them on all of their outings for as long as they can remember, which is a very long time.

One that is loaded with misery and in which it is possible that a loved one may pass away in addition to a catastrophic event taking place. George Carroll was regarded as a respected and beloved member of the community he resided in. In 1961, he disappeared without a trace despite the fact that he had been a devoted husband and father who had spent his entire life tending to the needs of his family. Then there was the reality that he had spent the better part of his life toiling away in order to take care of his loved ones and provide for them.
