#15: Ryan Reynolds Was Hidden Behind the Character (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, 2009)
Long before becoming synonymous with Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds briefly introduced the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. While his early scenes capture flashes of the quick wit that would later define the antihero, the film dramatically changes the character’s appearance and personality during its final act. By removing Deadpool’s trademark humor and even sewing his mouth shut, the story strips away nearly everything that made the comic-book version so popular. Reynolds is left with little opportunity to showcase the charisma that eventually transformed the character into a global phenomenon.
