Actors Trapped in Roles They Never Should’ve Played

Emily Blunt has repeatedly demonstrated exceptional range in both comedy and drama, making her appearance in Gulliver’s Travels particularly disappointing. Although she performs with professionalism and charm, the screenplay rarely gives her meaningful opportunities to shape the story. Much of the film’s attention centers on exaggerated slapstick and Jack Black’s larger-than-life performance, leaving Blunt’s character underdeveloped by comparison. Her natural comic timing and emotional subtlety are largely overshadowed by the film’s uneven tone.
