Long before Hollywood gave him cars to destroy, he already knew what it meant to launch his body into space. Statham competed as a diver and spent years training physically before acting became his profession, a background that proved unusually useful once The Transporter (2002) turned him into an action star. Martial arts, fights, driving and falls became part of his screen identity, and he performed his own stunt work extensively in the franchise.
