Hank Azaria wanted the role of Joey Tribbiani in Friends (1994) so badly that he auditioned twice, something he rarely did. After losing out to Matt LeBlanc, Azaria initially believed he could have played the character better. Over time, however, he came to appreciate how perfectly LeBlanc grew into the role.
