#5: Selma Blair Nearly Played Joey Potter in Dawson’s Creek (1998)
Dawson’s Creek (1998) helped launch several young stars, and creator Kevin Williamson originally favored Selma Blair for Joey Potter. Everything changed when Katie Holmes submitted her memorable audition tape from Ohio. Blair later acknowledged the role belonged to Holmes and remained supportive of the show’s eventual casting choices.
