One vehicle raised an alarm
It is common practice for officers assigned to traffic monitoring to run license plates as part of their job responsibilities. Running license plates lets police locate automobiles that have been engaged in a crime or have been reported missing.
Even though you may not be aware of it, your vehicle’s license plates have likely been run hundreds of times. It’s part of the everyday routine. At some point during the plate run on this particular day, an alarm sounded on one of the vehicles. An automobile was stopped and asked, and an inspection was performed.
