#1: Waterbeds
Waterbeds started as medical tools in the 1800s, but by the ’70s, they became trendy home furniture. Advertised as relaxing and romantic, they were fun until you had to fill, drain, or fix a leak. Moving was a nightmare.

The idea of “liquid support” sounded great, but most people quickly realized they preferred dry, normal beds.
