#19: Borley Rectory Site — United Kingdom
Borley Rectory earned the title “the most haunted house in England,” thanks to paranormal investigator Harry Price, who documented its phenomena in a popular 1940 book. Ghostly footsteps, messages scrawled on walls, and a phantom nun plagued the house, which opened in 1863 in the village of Borley. In 1939, the house burned to the ground. One might think the fire ended the hauntings, but they reportedly carried on. Today, only the garden walls and a few foundations survive, yet visitors still come, hoping to spot the phantom nun, who reportedly still wanders the grounds.
