He Maintained The Neutrality Stance Throughout European Wars
James Monroe served as president from 1817 to 1825 and is well known for the Monroe Doctrine. In his address to Congress in 1823, he laid forth the theory. During European wars, Monroe maintained the stance of the United States of America to remain neutral.
Also, Monroe used his address to proclaim that the United States would never tolerate recolonization of any nation. There will be no further colonization of western territories, he said at the conclusion of his address Russia was looking to the West at the time. To put it another way, the Monroe Doctrine acted as a stark warning: cease now, or face the wrath of the law.
