Accomplished Two Manned Flights
After the assassination of John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson became the next president. A dedicated American citizen from 1963 to 1969, Johnson promoted his vision of the “Great Society” as a possible future for America. Civil Rights was Johnson’s No. 1 priority when it came to realizing the dream.
The United States launched its first spacecraft under his watch. During the first Apollo mission, all seven astronauts were killed. It wasn’t until 1969 that two successful human flights were completed by Johnson.
