Before becoming an NBA legend, Tim Duncan trained as a competitive swimmer in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Hurricane Hugo in 1989 destroyed his pool, pushing him toward basketball in high school. He developed quickly, starred at Wake Forest University, and won five NBA championships with the San Antonio Spurs.
