The Ideal Season of the Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins had a flawless season in 1972. They’re now one of only three NFL teams to receive this honor! The 1972 Miami Dolphins won all three postseason games, including Super Bowl VII against the Washington Redskins, going 14–0 during the regular season. They finished the season with a perfect record of 17–0.
However, there was a near call during the Super Bowl. When kicker Garo Yepremian attempted to deliver a forward pass, he lost control, allowing the Redskins to score the game’s only touchdown. 14–7 was the final score.
