Arthur Ashe Changes the Course of History
Arthur Ashe is the only black man to have won the Wimbledon Cup. This incredible athlete paved the way for people of color in a predominantly white sport, and he did so with grace and confidence.
He added two more grand slam titles to his career after winning Wimbledon. The Arthur Ashe Endowment for the Defeat of AIDS was established after his death in 1993 to honor his name and legacy.
