Nixon Greets Elvis
In this 1970 photograph, Elvis Presley and Richard Nixon, two idols of the decade, meet in the White House. It wasn’t an easy meeting either; these two talked about significant plans for young people.
Their discussion focused on the United States’ youth’s penchant for illegal narcotics. Ironically, it was this issue that contributed to the music star’s death later that decade. At the very least, while he was still alive, he tried to aid the children.
