The Apollo 13 Crew
Apollo 13 was the third crewed mission of the Apollo space program, and it was the seventh to land on the moon. An oxygen tank failure prompted the lunar landing to be aborted after it was launched from Kennedy Space Center on April 11, 1970.
Instead, on April 17, the module swung around the moon and successfully returned to Earth. In this 1970 photograph, the original crew is shown. Jim Lovell, Ken Mattingly (who was replaced by Jack Swigart for the mission), and Fred Haise, from left to right.
