The art world is a funny place when you really think about it. There is really no solid definition of what is art, it is constantly changing with time and nobody can put their finger on it exactly. Is art supposed to make you feel good? Is art supposed to be just things that we regard as beautiful? But then who is to say what is beautiful and what isn’t? It all depends on the viewer and how the art affects them in their mind. You can see how this will lead to an endless discussion that will never end, and that’s just what has happened. All the way back in recorded history, we have debated what art is and how we can define it. That conversation is still going on today and some artists even like to point out the ridiculous nature of the entire industry. One of the main people for this is the mysterious artist known as Banksy.

Who is Banksy?
We don’t really know who Banksy is and what he looks like. All we can say is that he is a caucasian male, probably from the UK because all of his early work started there. He came up in the 1990s, doing street art around England and other parts of the UK.

At first, you could find his art on walls around London and Bristol, but then he began to expand to other places and countries. At the beginning of his career, most of his work went unnoticed or was just described as graffiti or vandalism. Throughout it all, Banksy kept his identity secret.
