New England is a region in the North Eastern United States which is comprised of six states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

This article will list what we believe to be the top 20 attractions that you can see in these states. The attractions featured here are handpicked by us and they present a mix of both natural and manmade attractions, so we hope you enjoy this article.

New Hampshire State House

Built in the Italianate architecture style, this building is located right in Concord and was completed back in 1819. If you’re interested, there’s even a museum inside!

The Great Stone Face

This landmark is also known as “The Profile” and it stands at 1,000 feet tall. It’s a natural rock formation which is located in Franconia Notch State Park and it can be hiked up to!

Ogunquit Beach

This is known as one of the best beaches in Maine, so if you’re planning on going there during the summertime, this would certainly be worth checking out.

Salem Maritime National Historic Site

Located in Salem, Massachusetts, this site consists of an actual working shipyard and some shops. You can even find a honey shop and spice shop!

Vermont State House

This state house building is known to be the fourth one built for this state and it was finished back in 1857. If you would like to see it, you can check out their tour information on their official website.

The Lowell National Historical Park

This site consists of several buildings which are historic and they are located in Lowell. It was created back in 1978.

Mount Washington Cog Railway

If you’re interested in trains or if you find yourself fascinated with old-fashioned steam engines, then this would be the right attraction for you.

Salem Maritime National Historic Site

This site is made up of several buildings in Salem and was created back in 1966. The buildings which are located here consist of shops, a working wharf, and even living quarters. It’s open every day except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

The Inn at Long Trail

This is located in Killington and it has a restaurant along with hotel rooms. It’s open all year round, so you will always be able to visit there.

Cape Cod National Seashore

This national seashore consists of several trails which are great for hiking during the summertime. The trails open up during May and they run all the way until October.

Mt. Washington Auto Road

This is a privately owned road that leads to the top of Mount Washington. It’s an approximately 6-mile roundtrip journey that runs along the Crawford Path, so it’s highly recommended for those who are interested in hiking.

Mt. Mansfield

If you would like to go skiing or hiking up a mountain, then this would be your best option! The summit of the mountain is located in Stowe and it’s over 4,000 feet tall.

In conclusion, New England has some of the best attractions that you can find in America, so if you have time to check out at least two or three sites, these would be your best options.
