#9: The Manchurian Candidate (1962)
Not to be confused with the 2004 remake, The Manchurian Candidate circa 1962 is a thriller with excitement that still gets you years later. Starring Frank Sinatra, Laurence Harvey, and Angela Lansbury, The Manchurian Candidate focuses on the capture and brainwashing of a group of soldiers at the end of the Korean War.
It is a historical film of its time, demonstrating the communist paranoia of the Cold War, and it remains one of the best thrillers ever made. Many even say it’s one of the best films of the 1900s.
