Lower Drinking
You can do many things before age 21, including buying a gun, smoking, and voting. However, the drinking age in America is 21, not just because the government wants to ruin our fun. It’s from a 1984 law aimed at decreasing the number of car accidents caused by drunk driving.
The theory was that if young adults under 21 weren’t allowed to drink, they wouldn’t be able to drink and drive. But let’s be real; it’s not like the drinking age stops anyone from drinking; it just means they’ll have to find creative ways to get their hands on alcohol!
