The excuse
Donna said that the driver of the car was her friend from work, a woman named Marissa, who worked at the same boutique franchise in the town next over. She said that she had told John about it months ago multiple times, but he either didn’t listen or forgot about it.
Her story was that she kissed her friend on the cheek as a greeting, got into the car, and drove to the other boutique where she was trying to get transferred. That boutique was nicer and she could make more sales there and get more commission money because the traffic was higher.
