It can be hard when you are growing up in America to try and fit in when you look physically different than everyone else. It can be hard to grow up anywhere when you have a problem like that as a matter of fact. So we need to take the time to look at some of the people around the world that deal with medical issues that single them out from the masses. It’s not their fault that they were born with some of these problems, and we salute them for doing their best to live with them. Think for a minute about the courage and strength it takes to own your own skin and be your own person in this world. There are many people trying to change and put you down constantly, so take this story as inspiration. Meet Mariah
The story we are going to tell you today is about a young girl named Mariah Perkins. She was born in the United States of America in a small town. She is part of an African American family who were middle class, hardworking and honest people. She had a great childhood.
When she was born, she could feel the love of her parents and she grew up in a healthy household. But it wouldn’t be until a little later in life that serious problems would occur. Something would start to grow inside of Mariah that would consume her entire life at some point.
