Wild Loud Noise
Erin’s drop was accelerating at first, but then it seemed to slow down a little bit. She continued to fall. Erin’s rope, on the other hand, did not produce the anticipated recoil; rather, when it should have caused the anticipated recoil, it made a horrifyingly loud cracking sound instead. She said how after a few seconds she felt a jolt across her chest.
“After a few seconds,” she said. “It was a stabbing pain in my side.” It seemed as though I picked up the pace after having previously slowed down for a brief period. Erin noted, “I could hear the wind and feel it rushing past my ears at the same time.” After that moment, things continued to deteriorate to an even worse state.
