Eddie Murphy Had A Tough Upbringing Due To The Environment He Was Raised In.
When Eddie’s father passed away, Eddie was left to raise him by himself. At the time, Eddie’s son was just eight years old. He was brought up by his mother, Lillian, in the town of Roosevelt, New York. The statement that follows was one time made by Eddie while he was performing on stage:
My parents divorced when I was three years old, and my father passed away when I was eight years old, so most of the memories I have of him are hazy. “He was a helpless prey for Murphy’s spell, and he eventually succumbed to it (laughs). Someone stabbed my dad, and it was a lady. All of the specifics were beyond my comprehension. The arrangement between us was meant to go as follows: “If I can’t have you, then no one else will.”
