We watch television to be entertained. While it is true that there are a lot of really terrible shows out there, on network TV or streaming services, there are still plenty of gems. What makes these shows so popular is the characters in them. Good or bad, hero or villain, these characters show us aspects of the human personality that we find captivating. We stay tuned in to see what unexpected decisions and insurmountable challenges these characters will face next. In a weird way, some of these modern TV characters are actually good role models.
#1: Alexis Rose – Schitt’s Creek
In the first season of “Schitt’s Creek,” Alexis is a self-absorbed, entitled brat, but as the series progresses, she becomes more grounded. She developed self-awareness, empathy, and compassion. Moreover, she learns to rely on herself, not her formerly wealthy parents or a rich boyfriend. Could it be that spoiled Alexis Rose is actually a role model for female empowerment?
