#3: Plymouth
The modern capital city of a beautiful British Overseas Territory was slowly swallowed by relentless pyroclastic flows from the Soufrière Hills volcano. A series of intense eruptions beginning in 1995 forced authorities to completely evacuate the southern half of the island, turning bustling streets into a dangerous exclusion zone. Plymouth remains entirely uninhabitable today, with abandoned office buildings still peaking out from the gray mud.
