#10: Hocus Pocus (1993)
Kenny Ortega’s 1993 film wasn’t a huge hit at first, but it slowly grew into a Halloween institution. Hocus Pocus follows the Sanderson sisters, three Salem witches resurrected in modern times after 300 years. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy are clearly having the time of their lives playing the over-the-top witches, who are more interested in causing musical mischief than serious harm. The film is more a full-blown Halloween comedy, filled with slapstick, memorable one-liners, and a talking cat.
