#15: Shaun of the Dead (2004)
Edgar Wright created a film that is both a loving tribute to zombie movies and a hilarious comedy about being stuck in a rut. Simon Pegg stars as Shaun, an electronics salesman whose biggest problems are his girlfriend and his lazy roommate, played by Nick Frost. Then a zombie apocalypse breaks out, forcing him to finally get his life together. Released in 2004, Shaun of the Dead is a brilliant mix of deadpan British humor, genuine horror, and even a little romance. It finds comedy in the mundane details of a zombie outbreak, like arguing over which records to use as weapons.
