#8: Catherine the Great’s Imperial Crown (Russia)
With many questioning both her legitimacy and her Prussian origins, it is no wonder that Catherine needed a flashy crown to establish her authority from the start. Renowned for its 4,936 diamonds, 75 pearls, and large red spinel, it was designed in 1762 for her coronation and became the model for later Russian crowns. The Revolution sent it on a convoluted journey, but since 1922, it has rested in the Kremlin.
