Some people procrastinate on occasion; others turn it into an art form. Either way, most of us are guilty of putting things off every now and then. Typically, this procrastination amounts to little more than a waste of time; you spend a few hours Facebook stalking your former high school classmates or doing a deep dive on the IMDB page of your favorite soap opera actress. This isn’t always the case, however, and procrastination can sometimes be productive. In fact, there are certain chores and long-ignored tasks that seem to only get done when we’re sidestepping something more annoying. So, instead of finishing your taxes, consider paying attention to the following to-do list.
#1: Scrubbing the Baseboards
Although an oft-neglected part of the home, baseboards are one of the dirtiest places in any given room. Due to foot traffic, pets, kids, and airborne particles, baseboards are layered with dirt and dust. The design of the baseboard is partly to blame, as many have flat surfaces that act like shelves proudly displaying their grimiest accomplishments. Cleaning your baseboards weekly can reign in the mess. Still, no matter how much you scrub, many stain (especially if they’re white), and you’ll likely throw in the towel and paint over them eventually.
