The sitcom Ferris Bueller (1990) attempted to continue the story of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986) with a strange twist. It suggested the hit movie had been based on the television version of Ferris. Viewers rejected the unusual idea, and the series ended after only twelve episodes.
