#9: Treasure Planet
Big names and gorgeous hand-drawn animation couldn’t save Treasure Planet from failing at the box office and becoming a lesser-talked-about Disney movie. Falling short of its budget by over $30 million, it is considered one of Disney’s biggest financial flops. But, much like Meet the Robinsons, it became a cult classic, too.
A space-based adventure based on the book Treasure Island, we see Jim Hawkins set sail for a treasure trove with Long John Silver. Huge stars like Martin Short, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Emma Thompson, Laurie Metcalf, David Hyde Pierce, and Brian Murray provided voices for the film.
