The Star-Spangled Connection in Toy Story
Some movie callbacks are more random than others, and one of the best examples of this can be found in Toy Story, of all films. The creepy kid’s hallway carpet in Sid’s house during Woody’s visit is eerily reminiscent of the hotel carpet from the classic horror film The Shining, and it’s one of the best examples of this you’ll find anywhere in film.
In fact, the film’s production designer, Ralph Eggleston, was so taken with Kubrick’s picture that it was his way of paying homage to him and his work.
