The Sword in the Stone’s Changing Narrators
Experiencing puberty is never a pleasant experience, especially when you’re a young actor. Richard Sorensen, who played King Arthur in the Disney animated feature Sword in the Stone, discovered that his voice was altering while on the set of the film.
By chance, the film’s director, Wolfgang Reitherman, happened to have two boys who were roughly the same age as Sorensen. The only way the film’s production could continue was because of the director’s ability to improvise, with the exception of one tiny detail: the character’s voice varied considerably throughout the course of the film.
