The CEO Served as an Inspiration for Ratigan.
Disney’s The Great Mouse Detective is an animated rendition of the classic Sherlock Holmes story that features mice and rats in Victorian-era London. For inspiration, animators looked to antique images and paintings depicting Londoners in the 1800s.
Ratigan, the film’s villain, was created by former Disney CEO Ron Miller, who was also involved in the production. We can only hope that the similarities between Miller and Ratigan end there, given the villain’s level of evil. Miller, like Ratigan, had a massive and menacing build; he was a former professional football player who stood at 6’6″ tall.
