Age-related color rules still have a hold on the psyche of women today, spouting such nonsense as bright colors and fun patterns are acceptable for younger women and girls but considered unseemly for their mothers. If you wore black and you weren’t going to a funeral, you might have gotten some curious looks in the past, but fashion should be about expressing how you feel inside and transforming your reality with the joy and power that a great-feeling outfit can inspire!
