#17: The Double Temple of Kom Ombo
Kom Ombo sits dramatically on a bend of the Nile, and its design is as unusual as its setting. The temple is double, dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder. That symmetry gives the complex a split personality in the best possible way. There are river views, carved reliefs, medical instruments, crocodile associations, and enough atmosphere to make sunset feel professionally arranged.
