Candido Jacuzzi and his family originally worked on aviation technology before turning to water pumps. They developed a hydrotherapy pump to help a family member with arthritis. This invention led to the creation of the modern hot tub. Today, Jacuzzi is often used as a generic term, regardless of brand.
