The school’s tradition
Barbers Hill high school has been known to have a relatively old and strict tradition on a variety of things, one of them being their conservative dress code. Similar to something that you would imagine from a picture of 1950’s America, the dress code at the high school was very prim and proper.
Of course, students could wear modern clothing, but nothing provocative or seen as inappropriate. This dress code also concerned haircuts, which stated that boys could not have hair that covered their eyes or went past their ears. Although nobody at the school enforced this rule while DeAndre was a freshman when graduation time approached they began to insist it be cut.
