#2: Liam Aiken as Harry Potter
Liam Aiken was almost cast as Harry Potter before Daniel Radcliffe landed the role. The strong contender from A Series of Unfortunate Events as the star of Lemony Snicket was Aiken, but he had one non-British straw too many, and it cost him the opportunity. I find it hard to imagine anyone else as Harry at this point, but Aiken was almost there.
