#8: Brave Was Originally Set Somewhere Other Than Scotland (2012)
Brave (2012) was not originally planned as a specifically Scottish story. Pixar first considered placing Merida’s adventure in a generic northern European medieval setting at first. As filmmakers researched landscapes, culture, and history, the world became more detailed. Scotland eventually became central to the film’s setting and visual style overall.
