Fascinating abandoned places from around the world

The Carbide Willson Ruins in Gatineau Park, Quebec, were built by inventor Thomas Leopold Willson during the early 1900s. Willson became famous after discovering a process for making calcium carbide in 1892. His estate project was never finished before his death. Today, the abandoned stone structure sits beside waterfalls and thick forest vegetation.
