Fictional Locations We Are Extremely Glad Do Not Exist

Graham Yost’s series, based on Elmore Leonard’s character Raylan Givens, set its action in a Kentucky coal county where the institutional infrastructure has been so thoroughly colonized by criminal enterprise that the distinction between law enforcement and criminality is largely a matter of which side of which specific moment you are observing. Raylan grew up there and left, then returns as a US Marshal and spends six seasons demonstrating that leaving a place and escaping it are two different achievements.
