#16: Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors (2015)
Rather than playing her adult self throughout, Dolly executive produced this television film inspired by her childhood and narrated the story. Alyvia Alyn Lind portrays young Dolly growing up in Tennessee with the large Parton family. The movie draws from the autobiographical song and emphasizes poverty, family bonds, faith, and the famous homemade coat. Dolly also appears specially around the presentation. Her childhood memories had already become songs; television simply gave them a larger living room.
