Fruit Pies
Apple pie’s flavor degrades rapidly after being refrigerated, as is common knowledge. The good news is that, as long as your pie contains sugar (and what psychopath doesn’t? ), you are free to leave the apple pie out in front of the bread loaves. Keep in mind that excessive bacteria growth can lead to spoilage if you don’t wrap the pastry in foil or a plastic bag.
Also, avoid placing the apple pie next to a bowl of lemons or apples for aesthetic sake. The gas emitted while these fruits ripened can discolor neighboring items due to its acidic nature. Because dairy products spoil more quickly than sugar, you should refrigerate other types of pies produced with dairy products.
