Unripe Mangoes
It is not necessary to refrigerate mangoes or peaches because they are both tropical fruits. Trucking companies and supermarket stores keep shipments of mangoes at lower temperatures in order to preserve the fruit’s visual quality.. So when you buy mangoes at the supermarket, you can be sure that they aren’t quite ripe yet.
Keeping mangoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight after you’ve washed all of your produce at the grocery is a good idea. If the mangoes are kept at room temperature, they will begin to ripen sooner rather than later. It will take a few days for the mangoes to soften and grow sweeter, which indicates that they are ready to be eaten.
