Watermelons
Watermelons are another item that does not require immediate cooling. In the home, watermelons can be kept on the counter for about two weeks after they have been plucked and smacked for maturity. Watermelons need to be near other fruits, such as apples, in order to properly mature when left out in the open at room temperature.
Toxic gases emitted by fruits like apples and oranges can destroy other foods like watermelons before they’ve even achieved ripeness, and then they will overripe and spoil, not only there will be a loss of taste but it will appear bad and will smell bad too. So better keep it away from the refrigerator.
