Onions
If you want to store whole, uncut onion bulbs in the refrigerator, don’t do it. In the refrigerator, they will quickly become mouldy and soggy due to the high humidity levels present in there. When the onion bulb is allowed to cool, the starches in the onion are transformed to sugars.
If the onion is stored in the fridge for an extended amount of time, it will completely liquefy. And that’s something that no one wants to happen. To keep onions fresh and dry, store them in the mesh bag that they came in or in any other container with a ventilated top or bottom.
